New to the forum...need some expert opinions here.

I am 28 years old and have really taken an interest in the rodeo, especially roping. I am just wondering if it is too late to start learning how to rope competitively?

My girlfriend barrel races and it would be badass to start doing some rodeos together. I have about 100 acres of farm land so practicing would be no problem. This is something I have been wanting to do for a long time but I don't want to get involved and put a ton of effort into something I am too old for.

Roping has no age limit as with any horse event, your still very young, if your a good rider then go for it, find someone in your area that can take you under their wing and show you the ropes in roping, lol I had to laugh at my self  {showing you the ropes in roping} but you get what I'm saying lol. Have fun

I completely agree! There is no age limit with roping and I say if you have the help from other people and resources go for it! Maybe attend a clinic or two to stick your feet in the water and maybe you'll figure out which kind if roping events you'd like to do!

You're never too old to start.  The really great thing about team roping is that you can get a handicap number and complete against other people of about your same skill level.  You don't have to enter the open from the beginning!  I never picked up a rope until I was 22....roped for a year, circumstances changed.......finally things changed so that now I can rope again.

100 is too old.  Once you are 100, its time to join the bingo club or somethiing.

Never too old to start!  Invest in a horse that you plan to "outgrow" soon.  A nice old campaigner that you don't have to worry about.  It's so much easier to learn (and safer) when you can concentrate on YOU and not worry about where your horse is.

HAVE FUN!!!
